Today, Ms. King shares her compassion for human rights by lending her time for causes close to her heart. Marlene Portnoy, Co-founder and COO, The Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation: Marlene Portnoy, co-founded The Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation with Jeanne Whiting and Charisse Litchman because of the frustration she felt with the lack of information and lack of research on this rare sarcoma. Her husband, Steve, was diagnosed in August 2004 with a retroperitoneal desmoid and has since been treated with surgery and radiation. In addition to her role as Chief Operating Officer of the Demoid Tumor Research Foundation, Marlene is a marketing executive of Mediamax Network and resides in Suffern, New York with her husband, Steve, and two daughters Brittany and Danielle. |

Jay Alexander, Master Magician: A master magician and comic, Jay Alexander is one of the top corporate and society entertainers in the country. Sterling Johnson, Bubble Performance Artist: The only performer who specializes in blowing bubbles using only his hands, Sterling Johnson was trained as an engineer and a lawyer. His bubble blowing to entertain friends over 30 years ago has developed into a full stage show. Sterling has appeared in Smithsonian and Omni magazines, and is a featured artist in Klutz's The Unbelievable Bubble Book.

Ryan Woessner, Unicycle: Originally from the Twin Cities of Minnesota, Ryan Woessner is an eight-time world champion in freestyle unicycling and in 2002 became the youngest world champion in the history of the sport. A Senior at Stanford University, Ryan currently serves as Director of the International Unicycling Federation as well as Chief Judge for all international freestyle competitions. Ryan will be traveling to New Zealand this December to compete and judge at the World Unicycling Championships.

Jocelynn Rudig, Aerial Tissue: Jocelynn has been a professional ballet, modern and aerial dancer for over 10 years. She enjoys all styles of dance including ballet, hip hop, African dance, contemporary and aerial dance. Jocelynn has danced for companies in Denver, San Francisco and Arcata and toured nationally and internationally with Capacitor, The International Ballet Theatre, Liss Fain Dance, Kim Robards Modern Dance and North Coast Dance. Jocelynn enjoys dancing on the ground as well as up in the air in a harness, in a lyra or on the tissue. When she is not rehearsing and performing, Jocelynn escapes to her second home on the Klamath River to work with and study the uses of medicinal plants. Teens Who Fly from Studio12 Flys, Trapeze: KIDS/GIRLS/ and TEENS WHO FLY are the aerial youth programs of Studio 12 flys that uses aerial dance as a vehicle to positively transform the lives of young girls/youth living in the East Bay. We offer high quality aerial dance instruction as part of a comprehensive curriculum designed to help young girls and boys build strength, flexibility and coordination as they learn compassion, responsibility, commitment, respect and accountability. Classes are focused upon nurturing self-discovery within each person, while using the form of aerial dance as a healthy way to learn teamwork, discipline, problem-solving skills and physical competence. Mz. Dee, Vocals: Frontlady Mz. Dee, an Oakland native, has sung her elegant and soulful style of blues, jazz and R&B all around the world with many musicians including the Johnny Otis Band, Ruth Brown and the Ford Brothers. She is also an accomplished song writer and studio musician who has appeared on recordings with many of the Bay Areas top artists. Mz. Dee credits her mother, Rochon Hemmans, noted as one of the Bay Area's top church organists and arrangers, as her first influence and greatest inspiration in the music world.

Garth Webber, Guitar:Vocals: One of the Bay Area’s premiere blues-jazz-rock guitarists, Garth has performed and recorded with numerous stars such as Miles Davis, Mose Allison, Gregg Allman. Bill Champlin, Merl Sounders, Bob Weir and Kingfish and Robben Ford. Garth has released two solo CDs and is known for his exceptional work as a studio recording engineer.
Paul Olguin, Bass: Paul is a highly sought-after player and has toured and performed with a range of national acts, from Huey Lewis to Earl Thomas, Elvin Bishop, Maria Muldauer and Shana Morrison. His playing, which included a performance on Prairie Home Companion, has floated over the airwaves on numerous radio stations.
Robin Roth, Drums: Known for her versatility, Robin has recorded and toured with artists such as Angela Strehli, Garth Webber, Shana Morrison, Johnny Nitro, Me Jane (Sluggo Records), Monica Pasqual (of Blame Sally), Papa's Culture (Elektra), and Table Talk (winner of MTV Beach House Contest).
David Sobel, Piano/Organ: A seasoned jazz and blues keyboard player, David has played at dozens of venues and festivals including the Kennedy Center, the Baltimore Blues Festival, Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts and the Sonoma Jazz + Festival. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Kathi McDonald, Freddie Hughes, Chick Willis, Catfish Hodge, Lisa Kindred, Little Wolf, and Tia Carrol.

Lisa Boylan, Facepainting – Professional Make-up Artist & Desmoid Tumor Survivor: JLisa has long been involved in the make-up business and has spent 12 years building her portfolio. Her projects have included a magazine cover, numerous runway shows, various print photographs and countless weddings. A recent desmoid tumor survivor herself, Lisa is passionate about getting the term "desmoid" out in the open and finding effective research to understand these destructive tumors.
